History & Philosophy
During the renovation of Gasthof “Butz” in the years 2013 and 2014, particular attention was paid to value conservation & naturalness. Starting with local building materials with plenty of wood to light-flooded rooms thanks to partly glassed interior walls. Our hotel puts great value on style combined with traditional Bavarian construction designs. Our love of nature inspired us to take ecological aspects consciously into consideration. But this applies not only to the furnishings in our hotel, but naturally also to the produce that we offer from our kitchen and in our butchery with its own slaughtering. The wellbeing of our guests and customers takes top priority for the Butz team; every day we show great personal commitment in our aim to enable visitors to enjoy relaxing days with us.
The Butz History
The house on Kirchplatz has been always been a place of hospitality. The Kattum Brewery with its guesthouse stood here until the year 1892, when a severe fire burned down numerous houses in Wörth. The proprietors Katharina and Xaver Trinkerl took over the rebuilt guesthouse at the turn of the 20th century and added a butchery to it. Trinkerl died young and was followed in 1906 by the master butcher Karl Butz, who married into the family. He passed on ownership to Alois and Katharina Baumann (née Butz) in the year 1952. In 1970 the owner’s nephew, master butcher Rudolf Hammerschmid, and his wife Bärbl took over the business. After the death of Rudolf Hammerschmid, his wife Bärbl ran the inn and butchery until 31.08.2012. The new owner and operator of the inn and butchery has been Ernst Aumer from Brennberg since 01.09.2012. Quite a lot has happened since the takeover in the year 2012. The new owner was very keen to modernise the entire premises but also to retain the long-established “Butz” for its customers and guests.
